When first that beauty stole my love from me. My crying kept the neighbors up all night. But now my love has grown, my crying ceased. The fire that gets most air will smoke least. ~ Rumi

Surviving the loss or death of a loved one poses one of life’s most challenging situations. It is a uniquely personal and emotional journey many would rather not take. Yet when embarked upon consciously, intense growth and remarkable personal transformation are possible.

At this workshop we will practice gentle grief specific yoga poses, which facilitate the process of letting go of loss and grief while honoring those who have left. Cultivating a compassionate and safe environment we will discuss coping with grief and embracing change.

No previous yoga experience necessary. All Levels are welcome.

Koren Paalman, MS is Iyengar certified at the Intermediate Junior I level and has been teaching yoga since 1995. Having survived the death of a loved one, she started her own consulting company, Conscious Grieving®, to be of service to people of all ages in grief and for those supporting people in grief. Her unique approach provides deep emotional support, strategies for acceptance and tools for letting go.

“The child in the womb is the product of the living thought of the mother throughout her pregnancy. The healthy body and the healthy mind of the would-be mother provide the fertile soil for the physical, mental and spiritual growth of the child.

It is my conviction that Yoga helps a mother in delivering a robust and healthy child. It keeps her body trim and lessens the tension in her nerves and mind by teaching her the art of relaxation.”
- BKS Iyengar

Come Play! We will be learning yoga asanas (postures) for children in a supportive, inclusive, energetic, positive and creative environment. Together we will bring out the natural yogi that exists within each of us! Moving and breathing consciously through asanas helps kids increase self-awareness and self-confidence. Through yoga games, stories and the safe progressive approach of the Iyengar method, participants will explore their own unique moving and thinking bodies.

Four Sundays June 9 – 30, 2:00-3:30 pm

with Jeff Perlman

New Course Starts June 9

Weeks 1-4: $50 per course

For students new to yoga or new to the Iyengar method, this course introduces the basic poses, principles of movement and posture, yoga philosophy and simple relaxation techniques. In Iyengar yoga, weak parts are strengthened and stiff parts are stretched, thus awakening and realigning the whole body. Benefits include increased vitality and the reduction of stress and anxiety.
